KID FROM THE CHI: ART EXHIBITION IDENTITY DESIGN

This proposed exhibition is about the late Virgil Abloh’s work with Louis Vuitton. KID FROM THE CHI would go over the 4 years that Abloh was the Men’s Artistic Director for Louis Vuitton, he let his interpretation of “streetwear” flow through his designs and clothes. Abloh’s creative approach to Louis Vuitton brought many fun, colorful, and youthful pieces redefining the high-end luxury brand. The exhibition would highlight some of Abloh’s best examples of “streetwear.”

THE INNER 17 YEAR OLD IN ME

The identity features a three-color design inspired by Abloh’s choice and taste in bright colors. A grid and shapes created with strokes represent a blueprint. Using the blueprint as a background pattern is a callback to Abloh’s interpretation of ‘deconstruction’ and his education in civil engineering. Abloh worked in many disciplines and was the expert in making all his work stand out; finding the balance of what work to showcase in the identity was a problem I faced.
